Yes--I Like College Football

What a Dream Week for Moi!!!

Look at Thursday.  One right after the other on the same channel.  11 hours of Bowl Games.

Friday looks like I might have to use the "clicker" to keep track, but it's all good.

Can you imagine the amount of crochet I will get done?

and just in case you forgot:

For those of you that don't know what this means:  We play Alabama--they are called the Crimson TIDE.  So------Tides come and go---Spartans are forever!!!  They are favored by 10 points, so we gotta play tough and beat them.

Another reason we hate them?  Their Coach was once our Coach and he left in mid-season to go to Louisiana for bigger money.  ASSHAT!!!

  1. Have you always been a sports fan? I only watch the Super Bowl and that is mainly for the commercials! And junk food. I'm more into HGTV and Food Network.

  2. I'm with AW---give me HGTV or the Food Newtwork over sports any day. But I'm glad you have something that you enjoy so much to keep you engaged and happy. We all need something like that.

  4. I'm afraid I have to ask who the Spartans are. I guess maybe Michigan? But which school?

I've never been a college football fan, although when Texas plays Oklahoma I tend to wake up enough to check the score now and then. I used to watch pro football, too, but I think it was mostly an excuse to sit down and do something mindless. Now, I don't need any excuses.

I've always thought the best thing about football was the food. I hear the tailgating at the Houston Texan games is fabulous. But spare me going to a stadium for a game. It's the traffic that's off-putting.

    1. Spartans are Michigan State University--located in Lansing, where our State Capitol is. A land-grant college. Wolverines are University of Michigan, located in Ann Arbor, or A2 or A squared as they like to call themselves. Supported by the rich, lawyers/doctors/liberals and arrogant as can be. :-)

  5. I was raised in a home with a sports minded Daddy. Thus the radio and later the TV were for watching sports. I married a sports minded man. Thus the TV was tuned into sporting events, when they were on. I have always lived in a house with one TV--thus, I either watched what they were watching or stayed in the kitchen. All my girls/kids love sports too--especially college. I am now alone on New Years Eve and Day--what would I do if not watch the college Bowl games? At least it is not a "repeat" of some movie or show I've already seen. :-)

  6. Traditions are important. You'll have a good time watching your games.

  7. I've just been checking the weather for UK on-line and have realised how bad it is in the US. I hope that you and your family are safe and have not been badly affected by the cold or the storms. Jx

    1. We are doing great in this region, Jan. An unusual winter for us, as we have no snow cover, but we aren't affected by floods or tornadoes or any of that nonsense. Thank goodness. The only worry we have is if someday, the Great Lakes rise so high that they completely cover our entire State and that hasn't happened in quite a long time. :-)

  8. Wow! I guess I know what you'll be doing this afternoon and tonight. You'll get a lot of crocheting done. You could probably make an entire afghan. :) Enjoy! And Happy New Year, Judy!

  9. As to your inquiry on my blog about the neighbor's cardboard box -- they did take it away sometime this year. I can't remember if and when I documented it. However, there are other things there now. They don't see this side of their garage like I do so they don't care what it looks like. They never trim the weeds or do anything else.

Hope your team wins on Saturday; I will be watching if it is televised.

    1. My Wiccan neighbor is the same way. I have the ugliest view when I look out my east windows in the morning!
