Well--Hi.

January 6th
I’ve had an Epiphany.
And that Partridge still up high in my tree?

Rifle at the ready, Lunch he will be!
=====================================

How is everybody doing?

Only kidding!  I read your blogs every day.  I haven't really been sleep-hibernating, I have just been hibernating in my house.

I went to Wal-Mart and stocked up (thanks to a gift card from Pammie) before the new year, parked my car and haven't gone anywhere since.  I LOVE IT!!

On New Year's day, I sat and watched three football bowl games in a row--12 hours of watching football.  Michigan State--MY SPARTANS won the Cotton Bowl in the last few seconds.  I was yelling and whooping and hollering!

I always like to start a new cross stitch project on New Year's Day, so I was happily cross stitching all day and...every day since.

Dar came over one day and I didn't answer the door. I heard her rattle the door knob, but I had the door locked so she couldn't get in.  She went home and called Pearl to see if I was all right and Pearl told her, "She's fine.  She's just hibernating from the world."  HAH

I did answer the phone, even though I didn't want too.  I just truly wanted to shut out the world and stay in peace and relaxation.  I also made a phone call to a friend in Florida that I haven't talked to in a year and that was nice to catch up.  I talked to Pammie and Pearl and my sister, on the phone, but other than that....

So--you got bored with my "Twelve Days of Christmas" griping?  That poem came to me on Christmas Day night, so I sat down and typed it up.  I typed it up the way I would feel if all those "gifts" were presented to me.  I would be grouchy!

The nice thing is, I don't have to go anywhere the rest of the month.  Unless I decide to go to the Old Gals Luncheon on the 15th.  It will depend on my mood and weather conditions.

Well-I do need to make a doctor's appointment, for my three month visit which was three months ago, LOL.  He insists that I come in every three months, which to me is utter nonsense.  I prefer every year, but will do every six months.  He likes to give me my prescriptions for only three months at a time, so I have to call in to get them renewed and then get scolded for not coming in every three months.

I AM PERFECTLY HEALTHY AND FINE!  What's he going to do for me?  Does he have a cure for my Tinnitus?  NO.  Does he have a cure for my arthritis?  NO.  Can he help the pain in my back and neck?  NO.  Does he was a cure for the tremor in my right hand?  NO!

When I go in, the nurse will refill all my prescriptions on the computer, take my weight and draw some blood.  The doc will walk in and say, "Well, what brings you in today?"

I will say, "I'm here because you insisted I come in."

Then he might check my lungs and heart and carotid arteries.  I will be fully clothed all the time.  Then out the door I will go and they will bill Medicare $220.00  Such nonsense.

Yesterday visitors: (The kind of visitors I prefer.)

My feeding station and front row seating for Maggie

  Blue Jay

Cardinal & Junco

Downy Woodpecker

Red Bellied Woodpecker
One of my favorites--Tufted Titmouse

A little red squirrel at his feeder.

I know I mentioned that odd numbered years have been much better, in my life, than even numbered years.

We are 6 days in to 2015 and so far it has been wonderful.  Well, at least nothing bad has happened, so I guess, that makes it wonderful.  Right?

Toodles Noodles, see ya tomorrow.

  1. Oh, how I have missed your blogs! You're a talented poet and I'm impressed with you 12 Days of Christmas, though.

I'm proud of your for hibernating from the world, even if that hibernation kept you from blogging---boo hoo---but from time to time we all need to protect our time and peace of mind. I figured maybe Fred's sadiversary was causing you to pull in like a turtle.

Love your cross-stitch and bird photos!

    1. Nope Jean--sadiversary 3rd wasn't too bad. I cried a few tears when I wrote his tribute and then it was time for bowl games and I was occupied the rest of the day.

  2. I'm glad you mentioned cross stitch; I might could get into that. I like your visitors; they're all very pretty.

I want to know why you think the camellia's and buds will be gone by Friday! This is the time of the year they usually bloom. I can't believe how much that bush has grown in the past year we've been here. Well, now I'll just have to wait until Friday!

    xoxo

    1. Because your temps are supposed to be 28 degrees, which is below freezing and they might get nipped, turn brown and die.

    2. Okay, then. I'll let you know. :)

  3. Glad you are back to the usual stuff,

My doctor insists I come visit every 3 months and the nurse always, without fail, asks me why I am there. So last time I wanted to know why every 3 months. That same nurse asked me if I take prescriptions. Yes I do. She said that is why you are here every 3 months. So why did she ask me in the first place?

    1. It's not like the doc has to check and see how my prescriptions are working for me. I have taken the same ones for years.

    1. Time for another Cortisone shot? If they help, get them. I went through the entire series--4 shots in my back, then the same 2 months later and then the same. None of them ever helped and they made my legs ache. I know, it helps some people, but not me and not the friends I know who went through all that. As long as the sun keeps shining, I don't really care how cold it is outside. I just stay in and enjoy the sun coming through my big windows--it feels good when it shines on my face and...the cats love laying in the sun spot on the carpet.

  5. Happy New Year Judy! Missed you over the holidays. Glad to see you 'back on track.' Like you, I, too am hibernating. Staying inside keeping warm - outdoor temps are - 25C. Doctor appointments up here in Canada similar to yours in Michigan - just money makers as you said - they don't help one who ails. Flu season is rampant here - another reason to stay home away from crowds. You're a football fan (me, too), but hockey takes over in the winter. Was glued to the Junior Hockey tournament in which Canada won over the Russians (a real barn burner right down to the final seconds). USA was eliminated in the semi-finals. The baby quilt I'm embroidering also needs to be completed over these winter months. Epithany has passed, decorations have been packed away for another year and all is now back to normal. Thank God for all His blessings. Keep writing - I so enjoy reading your blog and stay warm and comfortable. Carly in Winnipeg

    1. Hi Carly. thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment! Hockey is big here too--my son and ex husband used to play in organized leagues. My daughter Pammie loves it and watches every game she can find on TV. Me? Not so much. I don't like professional sports of any kind, other than baseball. I do enjoy watching college football and basketball however. Isn't this the perfect time of year for a new project? Suppose to get below zero here tonight. Wind chills tonight at -30 with strong winds. AH--the joys of January in the northern climes, LOL

  6. I just LOVE your blog. But I really would like them daily. And poetry! LOVE that. You are so creative.

Hibernation from humans is a good thing, sometimes. On a regular basis.

Thanks for keeping in touch ... and for all the photos. Not much variety in Maui.

  7. What fine friends you have. Colorful, grateful, nice variety. not too intrusive. So simple to please. We have the same triple tower birdfeeder - isn't it beautiful? Looks like you have the whole set. Lucky you!

Do you have someone in mind when you cross stitch? Looks like something in the middle records an event.

  8. I'm glad your sadiversary wasn't too bad. I can't believe it's been three years. Time keeps on moving - no matter what.

Love your pics. Even in the winter, they are great.

My doctors want me in there every three or four months, too. I feel like all I do is go to doctors! Crazy!
