Ain't it the truth...............

Image may contain: text

How could I possibly hate someone who voted the opposite way I did?  In my family we have Democrats, Republicans, Green Party and other strange party's I've never heard of who write in their vote.  This last campaign and election has seen many people lose friends.  It's ridiculous!!!
======================

I am so curious--new people coming to stop by this blog and I don't know you.  Can you leave me a comment with your name and where you're from?  Corner Brook, Newfoundland.  Owatonna, MN.
Flushing, MI.

You see, I keep a list of all my blog buddies, with your name and where you're from.  That way, I can look at my side bar to see who stopped in, by the town listed, and check my list, and even though you don't comment, I can visualize you.

I may have to resort to a full roll call of everyone, and you know, that's no fun.  LOL

  1. What a goofy world this would be if everybody thought the same way. One thing for sure, there probably wouldn't be any wars going on if we all thought the right way.

  2. You may think I'm new because lately when I come here it says, I'm from Marshfield, WI when it used to say West Michigan. Somehow it got changed and I can't change it aback because the FeedJit site is waked out, won't stay open for me to change it or read on the page. Remember when it did something similar with you?

  3. I have family members who have very different ideas about politics than I do. I avoid politics. I'm not going to get in an argument with someone I love over politics or religion.

I have lots of lurkers, too, but I don't comment on every blog I read either.

  5. A friend from central Canada - Winnipeg, MB just north of Minneapolis. I agree people shouldn't be judged by their opinions. We're all equal and have much to offer. Enjoy your blogs and will continue to keep in touch.

  6. But what if those differing people, can not be trusted, to not throw political views, in your face?

For myself, I do not need, to keep that person, in my life.

Life is difficult enough, as is... Without that "fear" and "apprehension," lurking over a relationship.

    1. My family and real friends never have thrown political disagreements at me, although a few have thrown political views at me, which is quite all right. We don't get into arguments about it.

  7. Yes, with StatCounter, I can see where my Readers are from. :-) I use (free) StatCounter, not the Blogger thing.

And yes, we get to "know" certain things... Like what blog, they came over, from. So that gives an inkling, abut those silent readers. Certain blogs, attract certain individuals. With similar interests and etc.

Sewing blogs attract others who craft. Pondering blogs, attract like. Decorating blogs, attract like. Day by day blogs, attract like. Etc.

So we do know more about our silent Readers, than they think we do.

And we do get to wondering... Wanting to know more, about those Readers... Wanting them, to make some sort of contact with us.

Even those, who didn't think they cared, are beginning to wonder... Who the hell, am I sharing my life with?????????????

And even those who thought they didn't care, are beginning to feel as if it is their right, to know more, about those who "peep in" at our lives, in blogs.

    Yes??????????????

    :-)

  8. I'm from Hillsboro, Oregon, near Portland. Matthew Dowd said on Twitter, if you are boycotting the inauguration out of principle that needs to be respected. If you are boycotting for partisan purposes then shame on you.

  9. Just moved to Michigan 4 months ago (Lake Orion). Originally from Illinois. Totally agree with your sentiments, life is too short to get all bent out of shape concerning who voted for who in the election, better to just "agree to disagree" and get on with it.

    1. So glad you left a comment. My Aunt & Uncle used to live in Lake Orion--he was the Methodist minister there for a long time. Glad to see you in Michigan--the temperatures and weather aren't much different than Illinois--unless you lived in southern Illinois.

  12. If someone is my friend (or even if they're not), who they voted for is none of my business and won't faze me. But we may not be able to talk about it. And really, that's a good policy anyway, most of the time.

If somebody wants a discussion however, I will sure give one to them and they will not have any trouble figuring out where I stand. I choose not to ignore for politeness' sake the fact that many of these issues concern life, death, and the direction of our nation. I am a conservative and what alarms me is how much (practically all) of the liberal rhetoric is based on and perpetuates lies. Those lies affect my children and grandchildren, and will affect my and their descendants long after I am gone. My political affiliation is far more than mere preferences, or family tradition. It's based on the bedrock of my beliefs. Elections have consequences. Often dire ones, as we know.

Ahhhhh ... I guess I thought you already knew I live in Columbia, South Carolina. I'm not technically "from" there but it's where I call home. xoxo

  14. Hey, Judy....Kathleen from Washington State checking in! LOL! I appreciate your post today. I was actually on the outs with a FB "friend" because of all her political rants. Not that we shared different opinions, but because she created a daily screaming match on her FB page. I'd finally had enough and unfriended her. Over the last 3+ months, I've really missed her. And yesterday she sent me a FB message: where have you been? why aren't we friends any more? So we talked and hashed it out and I'm so glad that she's back in my life again. I'm going to be better at being a vocal part of YOUR life...I'd like you to know I'm here!

debbie, from new jersey, the jersey shore!!!

i am happy that we are all different, have different views and different opinions. i love reading about those views, i learn a lot. i could never dislike someone if they felt different than i. i do enjoy people with a strong moral fiber and good values. this world would be pretty boring if we were all the same!!!

Yes, it would be boring if we were all alike, but society would probably be nicer. Little Robots, all required to take our "nice" injection every morning. Reminds me of an Orwell book. LOL

  18. I'm not into politics and I wouldn't know what party my friends belong to unless they told me. That's there own business, not mine. I don't tell who I voted for. It's a secret ballot, and I cherish that privilege. I do care about what's going on, but I know that in politics, I'm not going to change anyone's mind. Most people have their minds made up and that's how it is.

I am new to visit you blog and I'm pleased that you found me. I'm from a small town about 30 miles south of Lake Erie, in Pennsylvania, --in the snow belt! But I wasn't always from here. I was born and raised in a town near Pittsburgh, PA. Yeah for blog friends! Nancy
