Today.
This has been the scene through my windows all day long!
This has just destroyed my Pollyanna view of the world!!! That adage is not true! A lot of adages are untrue.
"Money can't buy happiness"
Ever been so poor you didn't have enough money to buy even a gallon of milk for your child?
"Early to bed, early to rise, makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise."
Early risers tend to be more proactive, but burn out quicker. Night Owls are smarter in the long run.
"Flattery will get you nowhere."
Wanna bet?

I am so glad this last day of March is almost over. These months with 31 days in them are a real strain on my budget. I think Social Security should give us an extra $20.00 on the months with 31 days in them. My Social Security is usually all gone by the 15th of each month, so the rest of the month, I am just whistling in the wind. Digging in the coin jar or searching coat pockets for enough to get a gallon of milk. HAH!

I finished up the last of the Mile A Minute blankets for Chris. This one is an afghan throw. Perfect for a gentleman I think. <or really any man, gentle or not.>
You know, you can find any of Chris' patterns on http://www.ravelry.com/designers/crissycraft---chris-williamson-designs

My gray, rainy, windy, cold day has been spent inside. Mostly in my chair, watching TV, cross stitching and letting the animals entertain me.
I want spring to come so bad but it won't for at least another week, they say. I'm sick of being cold!
ReplyDeleteYour cat looks happy in the box/basket.
Night time temps below freezing for the next few days. You might even get lake effect snow.
DeleteMarch 1 was terrible here. But this week we've had temps in the high 60's to low 70's. After months of rain, this week has been like heaven! Sadly the rain will be back. I think a lot of these old adages are a bunch of hooey, and not true more often than not. I keep thinking that I am going to try to progress in my crocheting skills, but I never get to it....staying with quilting instead. That lap afghan is nice...any man would be pleased to have it!
ReplyDeleteRainy up there in WA, Kathleen. It was so dreary here, all I could do was sit in my chair and watch TV and cross stitch.
DeleteNow you know how I feel when living in the Pacific Northwest. 9 months of grey and cool and often wet. Maui is so much better for my outlook on life! Even though I miss my family ...
ReplyDeleteMy 2nd grand daughter lives in Portland. She loves it there. I prefer snow over rain. At least the sun can shine on a snow day. :-)
DeleteIt was 88 here on Wednesday. Not sure about yesterday, I was busy chasing JJ. :)
ReplyDeleteI didn't know Chris has a website; I'm going to look her up!
I hope for you a more beautiful day.
xoxo
There is also a link to Chris' site on the right hand side of my page. 88? I hope it never gets that hot here, but probably will, but not until July.
DeleteWe had beautiful spring weather for several days before Easter, and then it got cold and rainy just in time for the Easter Bunny. Blah.
ReplyDeleteThat afghan is lovely. I'm a gal who likes more masculine colors. No pastels for me.
I had to laugh at your adages. I'm an early riser and also awake in the middle of the night. I don't even know what that means. Ha! But I'm not wealthy or healthy, and I'm only wise on odd days of the month.
Odd days? Like 1,3,5,7,9?
DeleteWe made it to April. Yay! Other adages that I put in the dust bin: "He (or she) did the best they could" "You'll outgrow it"
ReplyDelete"What goes around comes around"
Especially that last one! Haven't seen it happen yet--that's why I don't buy into the whole Karma thing.
DeleteOh that is a beautiful afghan! They last forever, too. I still have one that my grandmother made for me and when the boys were growing up it was washed on a weekly basis for years and years and it is still if perfect condition! :) Love your work! :) And how cute the critters are!
ReplyDeleteMaybe money can't buy happiness but it can put you in a better place from which to be miserable. And I'm with you on that night owl thing too. The throw you made is really beautiful. I love the colors. You're so talented. xoxo
