Question
How long does it take this dang Prednisone to work? I still feel lousy and tired.
A few days. But not everyone reacts the same way to Prednisone. I love the stuff, gives me lots of energy, but I know others who can't stand the way it makes them feel.
I believe like Jean R; it works like any other med including most antibiotics. I think once it kicks it in, you start feeling better sooner or later. At least I hope so. xoxo
When I took it for bronchitis/pneumonia in Dec/Jan, the prednisone seemed to kick in so fast. It was amazing. Hope your relief shows up soon. If you can get ahold of some eucalyptus essential oil, spare drops of it work to open your breathing. So sorry you are so sick. My son has just come down with it for the 2nd time this year and I am sure hoping it steers clear of me, as I am supposed to spend most of March in FL.
Sorry you feel like crud, Judy. So much stuff going around. The prednisone will kick in soon. I keep thinking I'm coming down with something, but attack it with Zicam and Cold Eze and it seems to disappear. With two memorial services and two church services in the last 10 days, I keep thinking I'm bound to catch something being around so many people. Keeping fingers crossed!
It should be working by now! I wish I could be on it all the time, I have so much more energy. Of course I eat like a pig on it. It has put 15 pounds on David in just over 2 months, and his cheeks are just as pink. Of course, he cannot be still a minute on it and can't get enough to eat! That's awesome. They came to see us today, and he and Katherine were wild as 12 and 9-year-old could be. I was so happy to see it!
I also would think it'd be working by now. I wish we could all come give you chicken soup and flowers and bring you to the doctors again. Will you have a chance to call the doctor today?

You could always eat ice cream. It isn't steroids, but it feels good on the throat it tastes better. Hope it kicks in soon. Feel better, Judy.

ReplyDeleteDidn't see this, yesterday.
ReplyDeletePrednisone works quickly for me. I get jazzzzed up. :-)
It's really super, as it makes me much more wanting-to-be-active, than I usually am. Like Jean R. above.
But like all meds, it works individually.
You will feel better, at your own rate.
So, how is it today/Sunday?
