Thoughts and Stuff

Today--I did not one thing!!!  Well, actually when I went out to get my mail, I decided to limp the 50 feet up to Merle & Pearl's.  My back still hurts, when I walk, but the Sciatic is the one that hurts the most.  EGAD!!!
=============
I was sitting in my recliner, half asleep with two cats laying on me, when I heard a tiny noise.  I got up to look and--there was an ambulance at the house across the street.  I figured the old guy Bob had a heart attack or something, but then I saw him talking with his son.  Pretty soon, the EMT's came hauling Marilyn out on the stretcher.  The blanket wasn't pulled over her face, so that is always a good sign.

Come to find out, she was in the kitchen, turned and ran into the kitchen island, fell and suffered a compound fracture of her left arm.  The whole ball of wax--bone sticking out of the skin.  All that gory stuff.

Bob came home, but not her, so I suppose they are keeping her for surgery.  Probably have to have pins and screws and all that gruesome stuff done.

The ambulance has no sooner pulled away and in came a big apparatus and I watched as they pulled out a long hose and put it down the sewer pipe to flush out the sewer between Jackie and Marlyn and Bob's house.

Merle and Pearl had told me that the lady across the street from them had been having problems with backed-up sewage.  Last night Dar had told me that her house has had a bad sewer gas smell.

So when I got home, I told Dar and she was going to call the office to tell them her problem too.  What was really strange is that I told Dar, "Laura has had sewage problems."

Dar said, "Laura who.  Where does she live."

"Laura.  The lady with the autistic son."

"Oh.  I guess I don't know her."

"She lives next door to you!"

"Oh.  I've never met her."

Of course not Dar, because it's always ALL ABOUT YOU! <which I did not say, but thought.>  How can you not know the people that live 30 feet on either side of you?

I was curious, so I went outside and said to one of the workers, "Are we having a sewer problem in this area?"  (Knowing full well the people across the street were).

"Nope.  We're just flushing it so we don't have any problems."

LIARS!!!
==============
Speaking of liars--my sister called me tonight and we were talking about our Primary election today.

Susie said, "I know a lot of people and do you know, not one of them is voting for Donald Trump."

"None of the people I know are either."

"Then why is he winning in every State?"

"I heard a report that he appeals to the angry, under-educated, blue collar, gun-toting, beer drinking, kind of red neck people."

"Well, that would explain it.  We don't know any of those kinds of people."

I said, "Yes we do.  Your nephew and my son...probably adores him."

She said, "Well, at least Mark won't be voting Democratic in November.  There is something to be said for that."

and we both laughed!!  Yes, she and I are critical, judgmental, gossipy women.  Not openly, but in our private conversations.  HAH.

  1. I've become a big fan of John Kasich. For the life of me I can't see why people have become so enthralled with Trump! He even won in my state!

    1. I voted three weeks ago, absentee. If I had waited, I too would have voted today for Kasich.

  2. You might not have done much but you still had an interesting day.

I am disappointed in Michigan Republicans giving Trump another step up to the presidency. I can't stand him and I guess I'm more prude than the churchy Republicans that surround me because I can't stand the idea of an x-soft porno star being a First Lady. Here, where I would vote if I didn't do it absentee they ran out of ballots for the Democrats and didn't get any for over two hours---that happened in two places! And other polling places had two hour waits, the lines were so long.

    1. P.S. I was glad to see Kasich did well. I could live with him being president, if it can't be a Democrat. LOL

    2. As of this moment, midnight, they still haven't called Michigan for either Hill or Bernie.

    3. After I read your comment, I went looking. That rumor of Melanie Trump being a soft porn star was started by Glenn Beck and apparently has no basis of truth. She was a very respected Architect from all I read.

  4. I don't think many (if any) will ever admit to voting for Trump. I never reveal my vote. So satisfied knowing my one little vote does count! It was interesting to read that Jean wouldn't vote for someone whose wife was an "x soft porn" star. Anything can be factored in. ANYTHING! Kind of a reason then to not vote for Hillary ... her husband is pornographic liar and so much more.

  5. I am not any of those things you listed and I would vote for Trump in a heartbeat. So would my husband. If anyone else goes up against Hillary I will not vote at all. I do like Kasich...have liked him from the start. But not all Trump voters are what people say they are and I am sorry Judy but that offended me.

    1. Oh, don't be offended! It was just my sister and I having a laughable conversation on the phone. You can be sure if Trump is the nominee, we both will vote for him. We are Republican's first, last and always!

    2. I just thought I'd throw out the phrase of the century that everyone seems to be using. It was a joke. Seriously though, I am none of those things you listed as being Trump followers.

    3. I saw a really good video on him tonight and...I may be easing on over to his side.

  6. I'm not a Trump fan, and no one I know would admit to voting for him even if they were. People who are voting for him are ashamed to admit it.

Hope your neighbor does well. It's never good to break anything at our age.

I haven't had a beer in 15 years but I do like coffee....People from all walks of life are voting Trump. He's a super businessman and knows how to run one whether it be a boardroom or a goverment...
I pray neither of the communist win the election.
    Rubio is another closet liberal.
Sorry about the lady breaking her arm!

  9. I know a few people who voted for Trump but for the life of me I can't understand why! I voted for Kasich because I saw him in an interview a few days ago and really liked him! So he has no chance of winning but at least I had my say! God help this country if Trump becomes president.

  10. This morning I heard exit poll comments and it appears, here in Michigan, Donald Trump appeals to: very conservative, somewhat conservative and moderate Liberals. I guess his demographics have changed since a month ago. HAH!

  11. So sorry your back and sciatic is flaring up. Hope today it's a little better and you're mobile.

Dar was sure acting in character. When is she gonna turn her "Judy...who?" on you?

Trump has admirable qualities - like Sanders. Both are refreshing for their directness and zest. I wouldn't vote for either of them, but that's because I fear either might take us over a cliff as we get so caught up in their convictions and enthusiasm. Pied Pipers, they remind me of.

  12. If Trump is the nominee we will have to vote for him. My husband and I are college educated. I am a retired teacher, my husband had his own business which we sold to our boys, also college educated, when he retired at 62 a year ago. My menfolk only drink whiskey, and both our boys are not voting for Hillary or the Socialist. I always wonder about the polls. We have personally never been polled. Probably because we have cell phones, no landline. I think there are a lot of us folks who are silent because friendship is more important than politics, but I am starting to tell my friends. My walking buddy today (from WI) surprised me because she totally agreed with me in the fact we'd never for Hillary the liar, or Bernie the Socialist. Trump might make a difference, and he can't wreak anymore havoc than Obama has in the last 8 years.

    1. True and I think he would be smart enough to "hire" really good people to have around him for advice. People that know a lot about how foreign diplomats work, military people, etc. It just might be interesting to see. If he is our nominee, I of course will vote for him.
