It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like-----Home

This shows the color of my couch and chair.  It's blue!  Of course, it's blue. :-)

Not much of a difference in color from the old one, but different lines and fabric.

I've been putting my house back together.  I don't want to move everything back into place in the living room because if and when Lowe's calls me with my carpet order, then I'd have to move it all out again.

He even painted my furnace door.

I did get the bathroom all done.

My sister found this way back in a corner of the kitchen cupboard, when she was taking things out for the estate sale.  It was my Daddy's and then mine when I was a little kid.  What a new found, old treasure!!  It has to be 100 years old, as my Daddy would be 100 in August.

I am one worn-out person!!  Tomorrow, ironing curtains and putting them back up.

Inch-by-Inch,  I'll get it all done.

  1. Things are looking great, Judy. It looks fresh and clean. There's nothing like sprucing up to make you feel good. I like blue. My couch is blue, but I really need a new one. This one is faded from the sun and a spring have sprung, but I keep it because nothing that the grands can do to it will hurt it.

    1. My old couch was like that. The middle back cushion pulled down to make a table with cup holders. They loved eating their lunch on it. Buddy had done a bit of scratching on one edge of the lower part. But it was in good shape. Both end recliners worked great. No springs shot. The color still vibrant. So--pass it on to someone else that will use it. :-)

  2. I just love the way things are shaping up for you, Judy. So very pretty; I love the sofa! A while back I gave Britt and Matt a sofa and loveseat; actually they've had it quite a long time. But, I told them "y'all don't buy anything new until those hoodlums get older!" It still looks really good, but yeah there are springs springing. :)

Won't Lowe's move the furniture for you when they lay the carpet. I can't wait to see everything put together! So happy for you. xoxo

    1. Lowe's WILL move furniture and take up the old carpet--for a price. They actually want $79.99 to take up a 15 x 15 piece of carpet! My boy Aaron will do it for $35.00. Actually I would do it free for a friend, but you know...everyone nowadays wants a reward for helping.

  3. It looks so fresh and clean. I'm jealous!!!!!!!

That baby plate is amazing! I hope you put a sticky label on the back explaining its history and earmark it for someone special in your family who will treasure it.

    1. The Baby dish has the sticker on the bottom with all the info. You know how organized and OCD I am, Jean. (I've had my funeral planned since I was 35!) LOL

    1. Thank you. I've been waiting a really long time to get the painting done and about 3 years to get rid of this worn to the jute carpet replaced. In fact, my computer room needs it worse, but that will (may) come next spring.

    2. I love blue against white. The blue isn't battling with something else to be beautiful. :) You're so fortunate to be able to do these things... and I know you've wanted to do it before now.
I somehow (hehe) don't see us getting another sofa in our remaining years(and this one was free and used 10 years ago!);) I've given up on painting---I'm no longer able do it myself, my husband doesn't want to, nor wants to pay anyone to get these 6 tiny rooms a "clean color." We have 50 years of "stuff" stuffed everywhere. Ah, well! There are many worse things. (I guess...) Just think, I could have Dar for my neighbor ---or.....a Wiccan witch as a neighbor, too! One never knows who their 'new' neighbors will be. ;)
Oh Judy, my e-mail address is toppingoff55 at yahoo dot com--if that's what you meant instead my mailing address. Don't know why I put my home address! Just addled, I guess!
      Happy 4th, happy lady!

    3. I've been living with this old stuff for 13 years. This will be the last small re-do I do for the rest of my years. Unless I can save up enough to do this computer room, which is really in bad shape--grunge-wise. LOL Thanks for your e-mail addy.

  6. This fresh update is inspiring. I like white and blue as much as you do, no matter what the season. You are one busy woman! Are you sleeping well, now that all major decisions are made?

  7. Oh, that is going to look so nice when you get it all done! Really like the new couch. I'm thinking ours needs replacing, maybe it will get done before winter. Happy 4th!

  8. It will look so nice when it is all done. It is being torn up that I hate with any changes to home. Always enjoy your posts.

  9. Inch by inch is right. All day today we moved stuff out of my front room, because tomorrow bright and early they're coming to pull up the carpet and put in the wood floors. My (large) kitchen and dining area is/are crammed with nearly everything that was in that room, including the contents of three tall bookcases. If I hadn't had my girls and Greg to help me, I might have keeled over! But isn't it fun to get "new." Can't wait for your reveal. xoxo
